In 1849, or there abouts, my great, great, great grandfather Thomas Quinn and his wife Ellen McHugh left their home in County Mayo, Ireland for the promise of a better and brighter future in Canada.
They came to Canada their two sons: Thomas and Patrick to join their eldest son James (founder of Quinnville) and their daughter Mary in Templeton, Canada East.
Today, I am leaving their new land to travel to the land they left behind. I will explore their home county in the west of Ireland, visit the sacred sites, and walk in their footsteps.
I will finally be going home.
